New Site Coming Soon(ish)
I've talked about it long enough, but it looks like the new site is finally going to become a reality. Over time a few problems with the current gallery have developed and I'd like to try and fulfill a few members feature requests with an all new website - CoinopArt.com

Members of artwork.joymonkey.come will have full access. New features will include...

  • Uploads - Users will be able to easily upload new files, helping preserve more and more arcade artwork that is becoming increasingly difficult to find good references to. Many people have requested this but with the current site it has been impossible.
  • Donations - Right now you can join this site and have access to all the artwork files by giving a small donation to help administrative costs. New members will also be able to do this on the new site, but full access can also be granted by uploading/donating new artwork files.
  • Vector Files - Similar to the awesome old LocalArcade site, upload of vector artwork files (ai,eps, cdr, pdf etc) in a zip will be allowed. Uploaders will need to provide a bitmap thumbnail for each zip.
  • Tagging - Images can be tagged with keywords by anyone. This will make it easier to find what you're looking for and see what kind of artwork is most popular.
  • Links for Forums/Facebook - Each page will include link code and a Facebook 'Like' button.
The site should be available in 'beta' form later this year. Apologies to everyone that has been patiently waiting for this; with the amount of giant bitmap image files I need to be extra careful that everything is done securely.

Welcome!
This site came about as the result of a BYOAC group buy. A bunch of us got together and pooled funds to buy Classic Arcade Graffix's collection of arcade artwork.
As a courtesy to Classic Arcade Graffix and their customers we'd prefer not to turn around and give their product to the whole community for free straight away; doing so would completely devalue the artwork that they've put a serious amount of time and effort into and wouldn't be fair on them, or others that have bought the artwork as business investments (like MameMarquees). With this in mind, unregistered gallery visitors will only have access to low-resolution watermarked versions of the artwork.

Personally, I would like to encourage people considering having artwork printed to use MameMarquees' services; if you have a look over the BYOAC forum you'll find that they've always provided excellent products to the arcade builders community.
